Daniel (Danny) V. Moceri, born in Los Angeles, California in 1950, grew up immersed in the vibrant Italian culture of Little Italy. Raised by his parents Anthony and Louise Moceri, Danny’s upbringing was steeped in familial traditions and community bonds. Fond memories of his childhood revolve around the tight-knit neighborhood and enduring friendships forged in the bustling streets.
After attending Westmont High School in Campbell, California, Danny seamlessly transitioned into assisting his family’s business ventures in Little Italy. As a proud third-generation Italian American, Danny learned invaluable lessons from his parents and grandparents, immigrants from Italy, who laid the groundwork for cherished fixtures in the community like Cash & Carry Italian Foods and Filippis Pizza Grotto. Through their dedication to their heritage, Danny and his family played an instrumental role in shaping the rich culinary tapestry of Little Italy.
Danny Moceri’s affinity for Little Italy runs deep, evident in his pivotal role as a founding father of the Little Italy Association and serving as the Vice President for 27 years. His unwavering commitment played an integral role in revitalizing and preserving the essence of the Little Italy neighborhood.
Beyond his business endeavors, Daniel is a loving husband to his wife, Debra, and a loving father to his three children, Alissa, Andrea, and Danny. Additionally, his pursuits as a martial artist, coach, singer, and Santa’s key helper for Little Italy exemplify his multifaceted contribution to the Little Italy community.
Danny Moceri received the designation of Little Italy Legacy Member, a lifetime honor, by the Little Italy Association Board of Directors on May 7, 2024 for his service to the Little Italy Board and community for almost three decades. Grazie Mille, Danny!
