Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church

Established in 1925, Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church has guided fisherman safely to shore and has been the home to many families who helped build this beautiful Italian church over 90 years ago. Our Lady of the Rosary Church became the center of spiritual, social and cultural life in San Diego’s Little Italy.

Now, in preparation for its Centennial in 2025, Our Lady of the Rosary has completed a $2.5M restoration. The restoration included remastering the original paintings as well as the carpet being replaced with Calcutta marble. Rojo Alicante marble is also being used in the center and side aisles. The confessional rooms have been restored with new stained-glass designs including pieces of the prodigal son and merciful father.

Our Lady of the Rosary is still a beacon of light for the Italian community and is an essential part of what makes our neighborhood the special, historical place it is.
