Top 5 Ways to Support Little Italy This Summer

Category: Stories

Ciao Bella! As the neighborhood reopens, we want you to know we are incredibly grateful to be part of a strong, supportive community like Little Italy. The last few months have taken a toll on our local businesses and residents but with your help, we know we can bring life back to our favorite little neighborhood.

Take part in our Air Kiss Challenge. Are you active on social media? Soffiare un bacio! Show your love for Little Italy by blowing us an “air kiss” on Facebook or Instagram with the tag #CiaoBellaSD. Don’t forget to tag your favorite Little Italy business and tag a friend to be entered in a giveaway.

Join us for Al Fresco dining. Cin! Cin! (Cheers!) We invite you to join us for an open-air dining experience we call Al Fresco. Every Saturday from noon to 11:00pm, we are closing several streets to expand open-air dining and create a safe 30-foot physical distancing promenade that helps restaurants alleviate the loss of indoor seating. Reservations are highly recommended, and dining can begin as early as 2:00pm and end at 10:00pm. Attendees are required to follow County Health directives including wearing a face mask, maintaining physical distancing, and staying within the family unit. Learn more.

Show off your Ciao Bella! swag. Available at select Little Italy businesses, this shirt is a great way to look bellísimo/a while also supporting the Little Italy. All proceeds support the Little Italy business crisis fund and the business where the shirt was purchased.

Make time for take-out. Light some candles, hit play on your preferred Italian-themed movie (Roman Holiday, anyone?) and enjoy your favorite dishes from our world class eateries. You can find all the restaurants available for pick-up, delivery and dine-in here. Mangia Bene! (Eat Well!)

Retail therapy. Sometimes you need to treat yourself! Shop and order online from some of our exclusive boutiques like Vocabulary Boutique & Be Boutique, take a peek at custom jewelry at Irelia Fine Jewelry, the quaint Fir Street Cottage Shops and more. You can find a full list of shops open for business here.

We are profoundly grateful for all the support we’ve received and continue to receive through these difficult times. We will see you in Little Italy again soon.

“They are. We are. I AM LITTLE ITALY.”
