Fleet Week Concert Series

Sunday, November 3, 2024 & Monday, November 4, 2024 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Join us for two unforgettable nights of live music as they kick-off Fleet Week with a Fleet Week Concert Series, celebrating and honoring the brave individuals of our armed forces. On Sunday, November 3rd at 6:00 pm, the Navy Band Southwest Rock Band will kick-off the festivities, performing an energetic set that blends classic American tunes, patriotic anthems, and modern hits. On Monday, November 4th at 6:00pm, the Marine Band San Diego Sound Strike will continue the celebration with a rousing tribute to our military service members.

The November 4th concert also marks a special occasion: the birthday of Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone, a legendary United States Marine who was awarded both the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross for his heroism in the Battle of Guadalcanal during World War II. His extraordinary legacy stands as a testament to the courage and sacrifice of those who serve, and this concert is a heartfelt tribute to that spirit. GySgt Basilone is honored in Little Italy San Diego through the Piazza Basilone, dedicated in November 2003 to honor him and “The Boys of Little Italy that Never Came Home.” The Piazza Basilone is located on India St. next to Civico 1845.
